Beauty Tips
Our wedding makeup tips can help you create a bridal look that’s everything you ever dreamed of. Your wedding will be one of the most important days of your life, so getting the details just right is a must.

Key Tips to Remember
If you’re having a make-up artist do your bridal make-up, schedule a practice day to ensure you are happy with your final wedding make-up choices. Next, give yourself plenty of time to get your hair and make-up ready on your special day. You don’t want to be rushed when you’re trying to look your best. Your pictures will last forever, so you want to be calm and happy by having plenty of “getting ready” time. Finally, keep a little bag of cosmetics essentials handy. Include extra foundation, lipstick, lip gloss and powder in the shades you plan to wear that day so that you can do quick touch ups throughout the day if needed.
The wedding makeup tips and tricks you learn will help you look gorgeous for your bridal and engagement pictures. They’ll also help you have an easier time working with your makeup artist and letting her know which looks and makeup styles you love most. These essential beauty tips will also help you ensure your make-up will hold up throughout your entire wedding day.

Your every blush, smile and kiss will be recorded on film, so your bridal makeup needs to be picture perfect. It should cover any imperfections and highlight your features, while appearing subtle and pretty. Venue and event time play key roles; you'll want to adjust your makeup for day or evening and for indoor or outdoor lighting.

Flip through bridal magazines and search for pictures that capture your ideal bridal look. Keep these pictures on hand for guidance.

Consider having your makeup done professionally. If you decide to do it yourself, have a free professional makeover before the wedding and ask for detailed instructions on how to achieve your desired look.

Choose the most lightweight foundation possible while still getting the coverage you need because heavier foundations will look more obvious.

Wear waterproof eye makeup so that tears of joy or the heat of summer don't make for streaks or smears or consider eyelash extensions.

Use various shades of shadow to add definition to your eyes, then add a hit of liner for drama. Resist the temptation to go for bold lines, bright colors or glitter, unless that's your usual look.

Stick to a soft and delicate tone for lipstick, as bold or dark colors might be overpowering. Remember to match the hues in your blush to those in your lipstick.

Contour your face with blush or bronzer, even if it's not part of your daily routine. It will give your skin a healthy glow and subtly define your features.

Curl lashes for length and definition but skip the false eyelashes. You don't want to risk having them peel off or rotate throughout the day.
Many brides have a vision for their wedding day. They see a picture-perfect ceremony location, the ideal reception and, of course, the perfect man. As they progress through the wedding planning stages, they have an idea of the dress they want and how they want to look. But many brides unfortunately have trouble seeking out that perfect hair and makeup look. If this sounds familiar and you are searching for your wedding day hairstyle, here are some tips to help you choose the perfect hairstyle for your wedding.
Brainstorm Ideas
Look through magazines, photographs and websites to gather ideas for your wedding day hairstyle. Cut out or print any pictures you find interesting and save them for your stylist.

Get Personal
By this, we mean consider your hair texture. If you have fine hair that easily goes limp, a long, straight style likely won’t hold all day. On the other hand, if your hair is naturally curly and you are getting married in Orlando in July, then consider how that humidity will affect you.

Also consider which hairstyles look best on you - don’t try a drastically different style. If you have always had short hair, you don’t have to grow it or get extensions for your wedding. Go with what looks best on you and you’ll be happy!

Be Yourself
Many brides want to undergo a transformation for their wedding day. They want to look beautiful, exotic and glamorous. That is perfectly fine, but just be sure that you maintain YOUR look. You want to be a more beautiful, more exotic, more glamorous version of YOURSELF on your wedding day. You don’t want the groom to wonder who is gliding down the aisle toward him, now do you?

Avoid Trends
A trend is a “trend” because it is a style that comes and goes. You want your wedding to be timeless. Choose a classic hairstyle that will withstand the test of time and your grandchildren will have nothing but compliments to say when they look at your photos.

See Your Stylist
If you have a stylist you are devoted to, then talk to her in the months leading up to your wedding. Ask her for her input and suggestions. Ask what styles she would recommend for your hair type. Carry your brainstorm photos with you, show them to her and ask for her feedback.

As the big day approaches, make an appointment to do a test run on your hair. Many brides like to do this on the day of their bridal portraits. It is a good idea to see how the hairstyle works with your makeup, dress and veil. Take pictures of your hair on this day-assuming you *love* it, so your stylist will remember exactly what she did. Be sure to get photos from all angles so she can easily replicate the look for your wedding day.

Have you selected a hairstyle yet? What is it? Are you wearing your hair up or down? Straight or curly?
You really want to be relaxed, stress-free and feeling your best for your wedding day. A spa offers you a quiet tranquil place to be pampered before your big moment. Relax tight muscles and enjoy some quiet time to reflect on your wedding day.
Bridal spa packages are offered by most spas and health and beauty destinations. Bridesmaids, groom, the best man and anyone important to you can also be invited to unwind and relax with you at the spa.
Most importantly, choose a health and beauty spa package that you feel will benefit you the most. Spas offer clients a variety of beauty and health services in one convinient, relaxing location.

You should consider these tips when visiting and selecting a bridal spa:

1. Start looking for local bridal spas and bridal salons at least six months before your wedding. Popular bridal spas book quickly, especially during the peak wedding season.

2. Visit the bridal spa before you book your appointment and ask for a complimentary tour. Take a look at the treatment rooms and try to get a feeling for the vibe and atmosphere. Look for cleanliness, a calming atmosphere, and attentive employees. Don’t feel obligated to make an appointment if you’re not completely happy with the spa.

3. When booking your appointment, schedule plenty of time for treatments. Try beginning your day with an aromatherapy massage, hot stone massage, or body scrub. To avoid surprises, remember to ask about all fees and additional costs while booking your appointments.

4. If you’re having your hair and make-up done at a bridal spa, meet with your aestheticians beforehand for a practice run of your hairstyle and makeup. Have a friend take pictures so you can see how you will look all dolled up.

5. Coordinate with bridesmaids well before the wedding to make simultaneous appointments for other memebers of the bridal party who would like to join you as you prepare at the spa.

6. Call the wedding spa two weeks before your visit to confirm that the appointment is on the books and your preferred technicians will be available.
Today's strapless wedding gowns almost beg for a golden tan. If you don't have the time or temperament to spend hours in the sun, there are a number of products to help achieve the look you want.
There are tanning salons all over the BC Lower Mainland. These salons provide you the ideal tan. Like tanning in the sun, tanning beds take many visits to establish a tan. If you elect to use tanning beds, investigate salons at least 3 months before your wedding.

Many brides are turning to sunless tanning products. These range from tanning pills and accelerators, which are generally ineffective, to sunless tans and bronzers. Bronzers are usually used to get a temporary tanned appearance, somewhat like a stain to the skin. They usually come off with soap and water, may streak after application and may stain clothing. Bronzers are best reserved to highlight the face.

Sunless tans are quick and easy to apply, although it is important to ensure even application over the entire area. Some will begin showing results within 30 minutes. Not only can you use sunless tanners over your entire body, they also last longer than bronzers. In addition to giving you a tan, sunless tanners are also excellent for covering up strap lines and white spots. Sunless tans will generally last 5 to 7 days and come in a variety of forms, including gels, lotions and mousse. The latest innovation in sunless tanners is airbrushed tans, which gives an overall even look. So for a golden glow without the risk of sunburn, wrinkles and sun damage, look into this new family of sunless tanning.
